Cookies note

The short version

This site uses one strictly necessary session cookie, which is set automatically when you request certain pages and helps the server manage session state. It does not identify you personally, is not shared with anyone, and expires when your browser is closed (or shortly after).

The slightly longer version

• Strictly necessary. A small session cookie is used by the web server to maintain state during your visit (for example, to preserve values in the contact form if you re-submit it). This is standard for PHP-based sites.
• No advertising cookies. No Google Ads cookie, no Facebook pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag, no third-party remarketing cookies. None of those services are loaded on this site.
• No analytics cookies. I do not use Google Analytics or an equivalent. Basic aggregate traffic is looked at from the server’s own logs.
• No cross-site tracking. There is nothing on this site that talks to any third-party ad network.

Because the only cookie in use is strictly necessary for the site to work, no consent banner is required under the Canadian and European rules I’m familiar with. You can, of course, block cookies entirely in your browser; the site will still work.
